Black Marriage Day DC 2015: “Respect The Ring”
B Intentional LLC & Family Voices of DC will celebrate the 13th Annual Black Marriage Day celebration with the theme, “Respect The Ring”. Black Marriage Day began with the passion to spread a positive message of marriage in the African American community. This special day was recognized in just 30 cities when it began in 2003, and it has now spread to more than 300 communities across the country.
B Intentional LLC & Family Voices of DC will join activists around the country to highlight the benefits of married life and offer celebrations to strengthen and promote marriage in the District of Columbia’s Black community. On March 22, 2015 the founders of B Intentional LLC, Ayize & Aiyana Ma’at ,will host an inspirational evening at the prestigious US Navy Memorial Museum located at 701 Pennsylvania Avenue, Wash, DC. The program is titled “Courage & Commitment: Stories Of What It Takes To Get Love Right” They will be celebrating marriage and couples that have stood together through the tough times and have become inspirational models to the community. It will be an intimate artistic evening that will begin with mingling & cocktails. The performance will include music, poetry, dance & courageous stories from real couples who have chosen commitment over fear!
“This program aims to pull back the curtains on marriage and reveal the challenges and celebrations that come with marriage. If people had a better understanding of what being committed to another person really looked like; I think we would have much stronger and long lasting marriages.”, explains B Intentional’s President, Ayize Ma’at.
“Marriage is always seen as boring and it isn’t! It’s fun.We were really intentional about capturing this in our performance and are committed to making this event educational and entertaining. We have wonderful artists who will be sharing their artistic gifts in honor of love, marriage and commitment. It’s going to be powerful” B Intentional’s CEO, Aiyana Ma’at, said.
